EDUCATION AND OUTREACH

Music is the universal language which offers a common bond among all people. It evokes emotions and rekindles vibrant memories. Music allows us to celebrate and preserve our cultural heritage and to explore the realms of our imagination, expression and creativity, resulting in a higher level of awareness and perception. At the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) our outreach activities focus on helping the wider community in appreciating and enjoying classical music.

EDUCATION OUTREACH

As part of Encounter’s most established and successful programmes, the MPO musicians continue to visit secondary schools, colleges and universities to share their love of music with the young and young-at-heart through live performances and demonstrations.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The MPO community outreach programme offers short informal recitals and special music presentations to community groups and institutions such as hospitals, orphanages, senior citizens’ homes, community centres, centres for the disabled and rehabilitation centres.
